DOVER: Esther M. Brown, 94, passed away peacefully at Riverside Rest Home on Wed. June 4, 2014 after a long illness. She was born on Jan. 1, 1920 in Dover, NH; the daughter of Elizabeth (Hanscom) and Theodore Capen. Esther was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many. She was a member of the Dover Baptist Church. Esther will be remembered by many for her sense of humor, her generosity and undeniable strength. She was employed by Shevenell Shoe as a Fancy Stitcher in Dover and retired in 1982. Esther loved the Good Ole Sports and the Day Out Program. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond who passed away in March 1983 after 40 years of marriage. She is survived by her 4 children, Marjorie and her husband, Rick Tenney of Phoenix AZ., Patricia Lucier of Rochester, NH; a son Harry and his wife, Karen of Dover, and Linda and her husband, Robert Mikula of Dover; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in Esther’s memory to Riverside Rest Home, 276 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820. Calling hours will be Friday, June 6, 2014 from 5-7:00pm at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH. Funeral services will be held on Sat. June 7, 2014 at 10:00am at the Funeral Home. After there a short service at Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover.
