Obituary for Electa Flora Viel (Shattuck)
Electa Flora Viel, age 90, passed away peacefully at Hyder House, October 20, 2022, with her children by her side.
She was born August 24, 1932 in Dover NH. Daughter of the late Mildred and George Shattuck, sister to the late Brenton and Harry Shattuck.
Married on July 4th, 1953 to Richard Viel (Deceased in 2008), and lived on Middle Road in Dover for over 64 years. She resided at Riverside Rest Home the fast 5 years.
She was a loving Mom and always reached out and gave her affectionate love to those that surrounded her. She loved the color purple, Teddy Bears, embroidery, coloring, cooking and most of all she adored her cat, Percy. Her sense of humor and silly sayings would bring a smile to anyone who knew her.
She had three children and will be missed by her daughter Brenda Turner, her husband Rusty and her son Thomas Viel and wife Nancy. And pre-deceased by her son Edward Viel (1985)
Electa has four grandchildren: James Bailey, Jacklyn Johnson, Kayla Woodbury, husband Sam and Cory Viel. She also has a close friend, she refers to as her sister, Marilyn Morand.
Electa worked at St. Ann's Nursing Home back in the 70's and retired from Clarostat Mfg. Co after 8 years.
Her Family would like to thank the staff at Riverside Rest Home and Hyder House for their wonderful care. And special Thank you to her niece Robin Labrie, Michelle Lemay and Electa Lemay who were always there for her.
Visiting hours will be from 10-11:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 26 at Purdy's Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave, Dover NH.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dover NH.
