Obituary for Edward Packard Larrabee Mr.

DOVER, NH: Edward P. Larrabee of Dover, NH passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Riverside Rest Home. Ed was born in Dover-Foxcroft Maine on July 26, 1924, the son of the late Orman and Ruth Larrabee. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School Class of 1942. He served in the US Navy on the aircraft carrier US Shangrila. After his discharge he joined the USCG out of Portland Maine where he worked to upgrade the lighthouses on the east coast. He went to work at Pease Air Force Base when it opened. He was a member of the Portsmouth Country Club, the American Legion, and the Loyal Order of the Moose. Ed had two children with his widowed wife Dorothy. He leaves his daughter Gail Schunk and her husband Winfried of Germany, his son Brad Larrabee and his wife Maryann of Stratham. He is survived by this three grandchildren Matthew and his wife Kristin of Greenland, Bryan of Stratham, and Amy and her husband Adam Blomeke of Exeter. He also had a great granddaughter, Addalyn Larrabee. He is survived by his step-son Robert Bond and his wife Nancy of Berwick, Maine; a step-daughter, Joyce and her husband Richard Chase of Rochester;as well has his step grandchildren Tim and Robin and step grandchildren Derek, Gavin, Robert, and Colby. In his retirement years he met Priscilla whom he married and they followed a dream of traveling and seeing all of the great things in life. Priscilla worked at the Portsmouth Rehabilitation Center (on the Route 1 Bypass) in the physical therapy department for 18 years. Family flowers only; friends and family may call from 4-7:00 pm on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH.
