Obituary for Earl J. Brown Mr.

Rochester, NH: Earl J. Brown, of Rochester, NH, age 78, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 after a brief hospitalization in Massachusetts. Born April 7, 1933 in Dover, NH, he was the son of Earl and Laurice (Hubbard) Brown. Earl graduated from Dover High School in 1951, the University of New Hampshire in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University in 1961 with a Master of Science in Engineering Science, Lehigh University in 1966 with a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mechanics, and Western New England College in 1972 with a Master of Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War. After 32 years of distinguished and faithful service to the federal government, he retired from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 1997. He was a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and a member of Tau Beta Pi. Earl enjoyed travelling domestically and abroad. He was particularly fond of touring national and state parks throughout the United States; his favorite tourist destination was Yellowstone National Park. Earl was a devoted husband and father and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy (Porter) Brown; one son, Stanley Brown of Saugus, MA; two daughters, Mrs. Karen Hendrickson of Woodstock, IL and Mrs. Sharon Schick of Lake Barrington, IL; one brother, Verne Brown of Ann Arbor, MI; four grandsons in IL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home. Interment will follow at New Town Cemetery in Rollinsford, NH.
