Dorothy E. Sproul Durham NH: Dorothy E. Sproul, 89, of Gerrish Dr., passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at St. Ann Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Dover. Dorothy was born on November 5, 1928 in East Sullivan, ME; the daughter of the late George and Mary (McNaughton) Estabrook. Dorothy loved spending time with her family. She was awarded an honorary Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration at Husson University in Bangor, ME. She was honored by Husson University with induction into its Sports Hall of Fame. Dorothy taught at Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln, ME where she also coached basketball. Dot traveled in many parts of the world, met many people and liked them all. She especially enjoyed playing basketball, warming up her brother Bill on the days he pitched for the town team and competing against friends on golf courses throughout the United States. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Otis Sproul of Durham; her son, Bryce Sproul of Sidney, ME and many nieces and one nephew. She is predeceased by her parents, her son, Dana C. Sproul, her brother, William Estabrook and sisters, Edna Briggs and Helen Briggs. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave, Dover, NH with celebrant Jo Maden, officiating.
