Deerfield: Dorothy Riether, 87, of Deerfield, died April 29, 2012 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Dot was born June 22, 1924 in Hackensack, New Jersey, and was the 4th of 5 daughters born to Everett and Alberta Terhune. Dot lived most of her married life in Waldwick, New Jersey with her beloved late husband, Walter J. Riether and upon his death, moved to Brewster on Cape Cod, MA; where she loved spending time at the beach with her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, rug hooking, card games, reading, gardening, swimming and golf. Dot is survived by her two children, Robert Riether and Wendy Litz; six grandchildren, Scott, Bryan, Stacey, Jason, Michelle and Jennifer and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dot’s name to NHSPCA, PO Box 196,104 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, NH 03885. The family will be having a private funeral service.
