Obituary for Donna Starratt Mrs.

Our loving mother, Donna Starratt, passed away at her home on Wednesday evening, Feb. 8, 2012 with her family at her side. She was born on June 23, 1925 in Viola WI; the daughter of Hugh and Vangie (Ogden) Harris. She was always proud of her Wisconsin heritage. Our mother traveled the world with our family, following our father during his career with the United States Air Force. After retiring from Davidson Rubber, she worked in retail until she was 80 years old. At the age of 86, she still remembered fondly her years working at the Ames and K-Mart department stores. Donna has been a member of St. Joseph’s Church since 1962. She loved spending time with her family. She was an avid gardener who loved to pamper her pets. Mom had a remarkable sweet tooth, and we will always remember how she used to love eating her dessert first. Donna is survived by her children, Frank H. Starratt of Dover; Robert F. Starratt and his wife, Rosario of Lewiston, ME; Thomas B. Starratt and his wife, Patricia of Milford; and Nancy L. France and her husband, Jef of Gonic. She is also survived by her son-in-heart, Dave Bryant of Rochester; her sister, Millie Bartel of Iowa; her 14 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Brenna Starratt who died in 1989 and her husband of 49 years, Robert F. Starratt who died in 1994. The family would especially like to thank David Prescott, Jr. and Jean Gahan, for their love and support, and the many small kindnesses shown to our mother during her declining health. Memorial contributions may be made in Donna’s name to Wentworth Hospice, 113 New Rochester Road, Suite 6, Dover, NH 03820. Friends and family may call from 5-7:00pm on Mon., Feb. 13, 2012 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH.
