Donald (Cappy) Earl Bickford, 74, of Old Rochester Road died on Saturday, December 17th, 2011 at his home with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 4th, 1937 in Dover, NH; the son of Gladys Bickford. Cappy worked for Heidelberg-Harris for 40 years before retiring in 1995. During retirement he was an avid gardener and wood worker. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Cappy is survived by his wife of 21 years, Phyllis Bickford; brothers Bill Bickford of Strafford, NH, Alan Bickford of Kennebunk Port, ME, Bing Bickford of Somersworth, NH; Daughters Debie Ramsey of Hollis, ME, Diana Rose of Acton ME, Amy Hernandez of Dover, NH; Sons Glen Bickford of Berwick, ME, Robert Bickford of Lebanon ME, Timothy Bickford of Exeter, NH; Step daughters Terrie Hale of Dover, NH, Gale Mercer, of Jacksonville FL; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his mother Gladys Bickford; sisters, Helen Nelson, Dorothy Bonneau; brothers Herbert Bickford, Ralph Bickford and grandson Jeremy Day.
