Obituary for David Thomas Young
David Thomas Young died peacefully in the arms of his daughters on Wednesday April 5th at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH. He is survived by his daughter Kristina Dela Sierra of Fairbanks Alaska. His daughter Stephanie Kinnison and husband Scott Kinnison of Nottingham New Hampshire. His granddaughter Tawni Dela Sierra and fiancé Shawn Agsalda, and grandson Austin Dela Sierra of Mililani Hawaii. Granddaughter Hannah Munck of Newmarket NH, and great granddaughters Khloe and Piper Agsalda. Brothers Robert, Paul, Mike, Mark, Ron and Matt. Sisters Diane and Becky; plus, many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Diane Young, parents Bessie Palmer and Robert Young. Brother Dwight and sisters Margaret, Annie and Brenda.
David was born in Shinglehouse, PA, April 24th, 1951, and grew up in Black Creek, NY. He graduated from Cuba Central School in Cuba, NY and furthered his education at trade school. He married his wife Diane in December of 1971 and moved to New Hampshire with Diane, Kristina and Stephanie in 1986 where they lived in Milton and eventually Northwood. David worked at Henkel in Seabrook, NH and eventually retired in 2017. The same year David and Diane, along with their daughter Stephanie, son-in-law Scott and granddaughter Hannah moved together to Nottingham, NH.
Since moving to Nottingham, David could be found most days riding his four-wheeler with his beloved dog Annie running alongside. Another of his favorite pastimes was watching his team, the New York Yankees.
In the fall of 2022, Kristina made a trip from Fairbanks Alaska to visit her dad. It meant the world to Dave to see his daughter again. Scott, Steph, Hannah, Kris and Dave spent some quality time together which brought real joy to Dave.
Besides being an exceptionally hard worker, Dave was known for his generosity. He was always there for friends and family in times of need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
