Obituary for David Stevens Patch
David Stevens Patch, age 36, of Barrington, NH, passed away on January 17, 2022. He was a 2004 graduate of Spaulding High School, and the Apprenticeship Program at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where he worked as a Ship fitter. David was passionate about science and nature. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping, especially at Schoodic Lake and Fort Foster. He was also an avid sports fan, especially of the New England teams.
First and foremost, David was a family man. One of his favorite things was Saturday night family dinner followed by a game of cards. The light of his life was his son, Kieran, who was the center of his world.
To quote a close family member: “David was one of the best people I have ever known. He took care of me when I didn’t deserve it without asking anything in return. He lived everything I hoped to be without even thinking about it. He took care of me and taught me how to care about people even when they didn’t take care of themselves”.
David is survived by his son Kieran; his mother, Dorrie McClintock, and stepfather, Mark, of Barrington; his father, Maurice Patch, Jr., and fiancée, Kim Sylvester, of Kittery Point; his stepsister and her husband, Chelsea and Ryan Byrd, and nephews, Hudson and Emerson, of Pink Hill, NC; maternal grandparents Jane and Carleton (Paul) Stevens of Springvale, ME. He leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins including Linda Patch; Craig and Ellen Stevens; Laurice and William Dunning Jr.; Risa and Jeff Grace; Matt McClintock; Michelle (Mickey) Kidney; Jana McClintock; Thomas and Brittany Scovens; Adam Stevens and Hira Khan; Benjamin Dunning and Natasha Nile; Erin and Brent Sarrazin, Jr.; Clara and Jeff Cracknell; Chandler Grace and Christie Graves.
He was predeceased by his brother Brandon and paternal grandparents Phyllis and Maurice Patch, Sr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Fort Foster in the spring. Details will be provided on this site in April.
