Obituary for Dale Chenevert

Dale Thomas Chenevert, 69, of Dover, NH, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on September 23, 2022. Dale was born on May 5, 1953, to Frank and Valerie (Vachon) Chenevert. Dale is survived by his wife of 30 years Diane (Caron) Chenevert, brother Jim and his wife Joanne, sisters Kathy Belanger and Donna Ziegler and brother of his heart (and cousin) Mark Racic and his wife Cynthia. He leaves behind many beloved cousins, nephews, and nieces. Dale was preceded by his parents Frank and Valerie (Vachon) Chenevert.

After graduating from Dover High School, Class of 1971, Dale became a plumber through the United Association Local 131 Plumbers & Steamfitters’ 5 year working apprenticeship program. Throughout his career, he was an active member of Local 131 for 45 years. Dale spent most of his working life as a foreman to the maintenance and refueling overhaul of piping systems at numerous nuclear power plants in Pennsylvania and New Jersey– including many years at Seabrook Station. Dale’s retirement job was for a sub-contractor at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Dale could fix just about anything and thoroughly enjoyed helping neighbors and family with their home improvement and vehicle maintenance projects. Other passions were his love of music, especially classic Rock and Roll and Irish music. Friday and Saturday nights often found Diane and Dale traveling to listen to their favorite local bands and dancing. Dale also loved classic cars and enjoyed many hours restoring his 1963 Dodge truck. Dale will be lovingly remembered by Diane, family, friends, and all those he touched with his generosity and kindness.

Visitation hours are on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd, Lee, NH.
