Obituary for Carol A Ouellette

Carol Ann Ouellette

It is with broken hearts that we share that our beloved Carol Ann Ouellette, 82, affectionately known as Mum, Nana, Nana Carol and Shi-Shi, resided in River Club, Bradenton, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH after a courageous battle with a rare auto immune disease.

She was born on June 24th, 1941, in Lynn, MA, and the eldest daughter of Albert “Stanley” and Dorothy (Carey) Jackson.

She received her master’s in education, BA in Science, AA in Science – Summa cum Laude from Keene State College. She also received her AA in Business from the University of New Hampshire. She was actively involved in several professional organizations including being President of the Business & Professional Women of NH. She piloted programs to assist young woman in their journey towards advancing into local businesses. She was actively involved in many community-based outreach programs. She was the Assistant Director of Public Safety at the University of New Hampshire and the Manager of Environmental Health & Safety from 1979 – 1997.

She was always up for an adventure and fun whether it be snowmobiling, climbing the Great Wall of China, scuba diving in Thailand, sunset cruises on the lake, snorkeling in the Keys, sky diving, belly dancing, riding motorcycles, or bow riding with the dolphins off the coast of Anna Maria Island.

She was a daughter of God and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church. Her greatest love was family. Having her family together and around her brought her pure joy. She was a remarkable cook, and nothing made her happier than preparing a delicious meal for all to enjoy surrounded by laughter and love.

Carol is survived by her loving companion of 14 years, John Viscardi. Carol was the beloved mother to daughter, Julie Cleary (Bergstrom) and husband Jay Cleary, of Barrington, NH and son Gary Bergstrom and wife Angela Bergstrom (Zahnle) of Myakka, FL. Carol was blessed with granddaughter Brittany Morton (Friend) and husband Michael Morton of Bradenton, FL grandson Jacob Bergstrom of Clearwater, FL, grandson Corey Bergstrom and wife Grace Bergstrom (Morse) of Eugene, OR, grandson Jacob Cleary of Nellis AFB, grandson Logan Bergstrom of Colorado Springs, CO and great-grandson Brendan Morton. Carol was also survived by her loving sister, Mary Walsh (Jackson) and husband Jim Walsh of Merritt Island, FL and her adored nieces, Dianne, Denise, Christine, their husbands and many children, grandchildren, and many friends.

She and her Bible Study group volunteered at Turning Points. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol’s name to Turning Points Bradenton, FL https://tpmanatee.org

A private Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
