Obituary for Calvin Swain Mr.

Barrington: Calvin Swain, 83, of Beauty Hill Road, passed away on Tues., Nov. 22, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side. Calvin was born on Dec. 3, 1927 in Barrington, NH; the son of Shurbin and Mary Esther Swain. Calvin served our country proudly in the US Army. He was a farmer in Barrington. He also had worked as a custodian and bus driver for the Barrington School District. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working on the farm. He survived by his sister, Gerry Baxter; his daughters, Ramona Cook and her husband, George of Barrington; and Cheryl Patten and her husband, Roy of Norton, VT; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Katherine (Blais) Swain; his siblings, Adeline Stadic, Ralph Swain, Dorothy Swain, and Laverne Baxter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Calvin’s name to Wentworth Hospice, 121 Broadway, Suite 17, Dover, NH 03820 or to Church of God Ramp Fund, 2 House St., Rochester, NH 03867. Friends and family may call from 9:30- 11:00 am on Sat., Nov. 26, 2011, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road, Rt. 4, Lee, NH, with Pastor Wayne Nelson, of the Church of God in Rochester.
