Obituary for Beulah M Eldredge (Weeden)
Beulah (Sis) May Eldredge of Dover, NH, died at Birch Healthcare Center on August 16, 2022 in Rochester, NH. She was born on June 19, 1924, in Dover NH. She was the daughter of the late Scott L. and Betharlene F. Weeden and lived in Dover all her life. She attended the Dover Schools and in her younger years worked as an Edge Stainer at Ludon Shoe Shop on Park Street, which now is a park. Later she worked at Davidson Rubber, as an inspector for thirteen years. She has been to many countries around the world and to every state in the Union. She spent many hours in her flower gardens, enjoyed crocheting, was a great seamstress, and loved shopping with her daughter and sister.
Beulah was a Golden Sheath member of Cocheco. Grange #81 for eighty years, Eastern Pomona #2, National Grange and a past Lecturer and Lady Assistant Stewart of Cocheco Grange and a member of Eastern Star, Crescent Chapter #45.
She was an active member of the 18th Colonial Militia of Dover NH and a member First Newmarket Colonial Militia where both Beulah and Elmer received a very special award, the military order of "Saint Barbara", noted for their service in the Field Artillery community for Artillery men and women everywhere. They were also life members of the Newmarket Historical Society. She was a 20-year member of the Dover Dollies Red Hat Society. Beulah was a member of Saint John's Methodist Church of Dover and had attended the Second Crown Point Baptist Church for many years.
She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Elmer Ellsworth Eldredge. She is survived by two sons, Glen Eldredge and wife Darlene of Gonic N.H, Brian Eldredge and wife Ann of Fuquay Varina, NC and her daughter Bonnie L. Hatch and husband David of Rochester NH. She has 11 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great grandchildren. Beulah is survived by her sister Betharlene (Betty) F. Miller and her husband James of Dover, NH and several nieces and nephews.
She would want to be remembered for the many jokes and stories she told as she endeavored to keep everyone laughing. She was always well dressed in her cowboy boots and hats ready to go when asked. She really enjoyed life to its fullest.
