Barbara Elaine Marshall, 89, of Madbury, NH, died at Carriage Hill Assisted Living on April 27. She was born in Chester, NH on August 31, 1928, to Edward and Arabel Gage. She grew up in Dover and graduated from Dover High School, class of 1946. She worked as a telephone operator, the Wentworth-Douglass coffee shop, the Bell Center Café, and Care Pharmacy in Dover, retiring at age 82. She was a volunteer at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital for over 35 years. She was also an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society. Barbara leaves two daughters, Carleen Riordan and her husband, John, of Dover, and Nancy Vatistas, and her husband, John, of Madbury. She glowed in the presence of her grandchildren and was the very proud Nana of Jennifer Riordan Jones and her husband, Tim, of Bow, Tom Vatistas and his wife, Katherine, of Readfield, ME, and Andrew Vatistas of Boston. She also enjoyed the antics of her two great granddaughters, Olivia Claire Jones and Sage Lucy Vatistas. Barbara leaves three sisters, Dorothea Levesque, Carol Noel and her husband, Harvey, Sandra Noel, and a brother, Robert Gage and his wife, Joan. A brother, Edward Gage, Jr., predeceased her. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
