Obituary for Barbara Estelle MacInnis (Whipp)

Barbara E. MacInnis
Dover: Barbara E. MacInnis, wife of David A. MacInnis passed away on January 11, 2024.
Born in Dover, NH on July 30, 1930; the daughter of Elsie and Frederick Whipp. Graduate of Dover High School class of 1949.
Barbara was employed 20 years as an IBM Operator, Kidder Press Mfg. Co. on Broadway.
A life time communicant of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, an Altor Guild Member, singing in both the Junior and Senior Choir. She taught Sunday School, Volunteer Thrift Shop Worker, Church Fairs and Church Suppers. Barbara was active in the Boy Scout Troop 172; she also served ten years in Ward 1 as selectman position. Past President of Nomi Theta Rowe Girls Club, Member of Cocheco 4-H Club and received numerous blue ribbons at Rochester Fair for her handcrafted items.
Past President of Dover Pioneer Garden Club 4 years, Participated in decorating Dover Public Library at Christmas time and Spring Flowers at upper square intersection fountain area, at Dover Post Office and Riverside Rest Home for a great many years. Barbara was an Honorable Life-time Member of New Hampshire Federation of Garden Club, Inc.
Barbara wife of David A. MacInnis is survived by a son, Brian E. and grandson, Jesse B. MacInnis, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her sister, Eleanor (Atkins) Anderas, New Providence, PA; brothers, Fred Atkins, Framingham, MA; Frank Atkins, San Leandro, CA; Roscoe and Robert Atkins, Dover, NH.
Friends and family may call from 4-5pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion, located at 655 Central Avenue in Dover, NH 03820. A burial will be held sometime in the spring.
