Anita Marie Keefe, 93, of Barrington, N.H. died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Riverside Rest Home, Dover, N.H. Born March 29, 1925, in Dover, NH to Donat Martel and Marie Ann Renaud. She worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard during WWII. Anita was married in 1947 and soon after moved to the Winkley Pond School House on Beauty Hill Rd, Barrington and spent many years making a home out of the schoolhouse. After her husband’s death on April 12, 1969, she worked for Meals on Wheels for over 25 years. Anita was a tutor in math and an avid seamstress, sewing for family members and friends teaching many of them to sew. She made quilts for the needy until she retired to Studley’s Assisted Living in Rochester, N.H. A devout Catholic, Anita and her husband helped establish and maintain The Chapel of Nativity, Rte 9, Barrington, N.H. One of her greatest joys was teaching Catechism to the younger children. Anita is survived by her son, Peter T. Keefe of Barrington, sister, Doris Piatak of Prescott, Az., and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Patrick Keefe, her sister, Claire Boucher, and brothers; Robert, Lionel, and Maurice Martel. A memorial will be held at 10:00am at the Chapel of Nativity on Friday, June 15, 2018 and burial at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Barrington, N.H.
