Obituary for Alma Mae Fortier (Norton)
Rochester, NH- Alma Fortier, of Rochester Hill Rd passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Birch Healthcare Center, Rochester, NH after a period of failing health.
Alma was born on June 24, 1935, in Dover, NH. She was the 7th of 9 children to Cora and Harold Norton. Alma was a strong woman, independent woman. Her greatest love was family. Having her family together and around her brought her pure joy. She survived many obstacles including the tragic death of her first husband, Robert Badger in 1958, just months prior to the birth of their third child. She was also predeceased by all 4 of her children, Diane Callahan, Debbie Fernald, Tina Parent, Robert Badger, a grandson, Jason Duquette, her husband Raymond Fortier, parents Harold and Cora Norton, brothers Harold, Reginald, and Frank Norton, sisters Beatrice Johnson, Bernice DesRoches and infant Shirley Norton.
Alma is survived by her sister, Dorothy Perron, brother Wayne Norton, grandchildren Angela Duquette-Bastien, Kayla Ellsworth, Destinie Duquette, Jennifer, Kristina, Kassandra and Scott Fernald, Maurice Fillmore, Kari Taylor, Tiffani Callahan, Sara Tyler, Robert Badger III, and many great grandchildren.
Friends and family may attend a visiting hour on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 3-4pm followed by a memorial service at 4pm Wiggin Purdy Funeral Home on 655 Central Ave, Dover, NH. Burial service will take place in the Spring. Flowers are welcome.
