Alfred J. Tessier
Barrington NH: Alfred “Fred” “Al” J Tessier, 76, of Scruton Pond died
on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born on June 23, 1947 in Providence RI; the son of Alfred H and Gertrude M Tessier.
Al was known as a generous and kind man who showed his love to those he cared for through his willingness to push through pain to offer assistance however he could, whether it be fixing a car or volunteering to help oversee the construction for Barrington’s playground. He was a retired sheetmetal worker, Local 17 in Boston, with an uncanny ability to fix anything – He defined DYI. He had an immense talent for woodworking and spent many hours in the shop building furniture for his family. When he found a hobby or interest he was all in, devoting countless hours to scuba diving where he loved collecting treasure and working on diving projects to include milfoil removal from area lakes. He had a soft spot and love for all animals, especially dogs, who were as drawn to him as he was to them; which led to him spending many hours at the Rochester Dog Park where he volunteered on the board.
Fred is survived by beloved wife of 55 years, Rosemary Lagor Tessier; his son Robert Tessier and his wife Lisa of Barrington NH, his daughter Kerri Tessier Hills and her husband Rob of Dover NH; 4 grandchildren; Drew, Colby, Carly, and Gavin; and 8 nieces and nephews and his brother in-law, Dennis Kostyla of W. Warwick RI.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and his sister, Trudy Kostyla.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday October 3, 2023 from 10am to 11am. A memorial service will follow at Purdy Memorial Chapel. 2 Concord Rd Lee NH. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Barrington
