Obituary for Aldo E. Grassi Mr.

Dover: Aldo E. Grassi, 87, passed Tuesday, Dec. 13th in Portsmouth, NH while a resident of Edgewood Centre, surrounded by his family. He was born in Brattleboro, VT on October 11, 1924, to Frank and Angelina Grassi. Aldo served in the Navy during WWII. After an honorable discharge, he worked as a ship fitter at PNSY. He also worked for the State of New Hampshire as a toll collector. He volunteered for the Disabled American Veterans, driving veterans more than a million miles to and from VA hospitals for their appointments. He was past Commander of Chapter 4, DAV, Newington, NH. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, coin collecting and to those who knew him best, “pitting” was one of his favorite hobbies. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Ann of 48 years, as well as their children; Diane & Armand Nault of Portsmouth, Frank & Debbie Grassi of Kittery, ME, Donald & Donna Grassi of Dover, Donna Ellingson of W. Fargo, ND, George & Lisette Nash of Dover and Judy Thompson of Farmington and over one hundred grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, his brother Lawrence, his two sisters in law, Joan & Donna, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Alan Nash, a daughter in law, Vickie and several siblings. The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Centre for their love and support over the past year. Friends and family may call from 10-11:00am on Sat. Dec. 17th with a memorial service to be held at 11:00am the Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road, Route 4, Lee, NH.
