Obituary for Albert Louis Mazza Jr.

Albert L Mazza Jr. “Woody” 59, died tragically on June 21st, 2019 alongside six other members and supporters of the Jarheads MC. Albert was born on April 8th, 1960 in Haverhill, MA. He graduated from Haverhill High School in 1978. He joined the US Marine Corps in July of 1978 and served proudly until July of 1982. Albert is survived by his life partner, Mary Lou Welch of Lee, NH, daughter Brittany Rose Mazza of Derry, NH, son Joshua Mazza of Michigan, sister Tina Mazza of Pompano Beach, FL, mother Joan Mitrano of Pompano Beach, FL, and father Albert Mazza Sr of Kenly North Carolina, as well as a large extended family. Albert will be forever loved by those he left behind. He will also be missed by the many friends he touched that we now consider family. Albert Mazza was the President of the Jarheads MC, and a Founding Father of the Club. He was affectionately known to all in the club and the MC Community as “Woody”. When Albert was present, you never had to look for him - he was always the loudest one in the room. His energy (spirit, heart, soul) radiated wherever he went. Albert’s generosity, willingness and eagerness to help those in need was second to none. Those closest to him knew if they were in trouble that they could always count on Albert to be the first in line to lend a hand. Albert made a lasting impression on everyone he met, he was a mentor and father figure to all who truly knew him. His passion for wanting to provide for those in need is reflected in his ability to lead, build networks and lifelong friendships. Community was so important to him - he was always seeking ways to make the club bigger, stronger, and better. He implemented into the club the values and brotherhood that are instilled within us as Marines. He treated everybody the same---with firmness, professionalism, dignity, honor and respect, regardless of background and position within the club. Al Mazza was an active member of the American Legion Post 51 in Epping and a past and current Executive Committee member responsible for the overall operation of the post. Al often took the lead whenever something had to be done even though he had many other commitments whether they be in his own business or in the other clubs or organizations he gave his time to. Al was especially committed to fundraising and helping Veterans, and anyone else for that matter, who needed help. He recently took time away from his business to build a handicap ramp for someone who had themselves been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. He wasn't asked to do it, he just did. You always knew when Al was in the room. He had an outgoing personality that could quickly turn your bad day into a good one. He is now and will be for a long time to come, missed. A service of life is scheduled for July 8th at American Legion Post 51 (Epping, NH) from 4pm-8pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Woody’s life. The burial will be a private event with immediate family and Jarheads MC on Tuesday July 9th. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to the Jarheads MC.
